Nicholas Barnett, Executive Chair, Board Benchmarking
Nicholas (Nick) founded Board Benchmarking and has over 35 years of experience as a governance expert, director, business leader, and consultant. He is the Executive Chair of Board Benchmarking and Insync. He is also Chair of Pro Purpose and was previously Chair of Ansvar Insurance, First Samuel, and Ambit Group. He has served as a director of Mission Australia and Stillwell Motor Group. Previously a partner at KPMG Australia, he is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
Nick has conducted more than 200 board reviews, spanning a diverse range of organisations from Dexus, GrainCorp and HESTA to Snowy Hydro, World Vision and Red Hill Football Netball Club. He is an accomplished author, speaker, and media commentator on governance, organisational culture, and gender diversity. He has authored numerous articles and three books on leadership, culture, engagement, and transformational change. He was also recently the primary author of Benchmarking board performance: 500 board reviews later and Golf Club Governance in Australia: 4 steps to better outcomes.

Cheryl Hayman, FAICD, Non Executive Director
Cheryl Hayman is a broad business leader with proven boardroom capability having been a listed company non-executive director in a career spanning multiple sectors, geographies and industries, for more than 15 years.
Cheryl portfolio currently includes non-executive director on listed Boards, Silk Logistics Holdings Ltd (ASX:SLH) and Ai Media Technologies Ltd (ASX:AIM). She also serves on the private company board of HJ Langdon & Co. and the board of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.
Cheryl is the Remuneration and Nomination Committee Chair on all of her Boards, and a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committees.
Passionate about sustainability, and now experienced in technology and keen on AI, Cheryl is focussed on ensuring her knowledge continues to grow and she continues to contribute effectively on her boards.
Prior to entering the Boardroom, Cheryl was a C-Suite marketing director who led large teams locally and overseas to achieve significant growth and develop innovative new products with global food and consumer retail companies, George Weston Foods, Yum! Restaurants and Unilever.
Outside of the boardroom Cheryl is a Member CEW (including Policy and Engagement Committee) and Women on Boards. She is a committed and passionate mentor and currently contributes as a mentor for Mentor Walks, Women on Boards, Minerva Network and The Marketing Academy.
